Meteorite studies

eteorites yield a wealth of information concerning Solar System origin, geochemical evolution of primitive parent objects, and irradiation histories of material in space. Since the numerous (approximately 16,000) antarctic meteorites include many of rare or unique types, current extraterrestrial materials research attention focuses on this population. Antarctic meteorites also have the potentia...

2 dimensional finite stochastic breakup model of biomass particle breakup.

Due to the high content of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin, the anisotropy of biomass particle in spatial structure induces the difference of mechanical properties in different directions. In this paper, based on the finite stochastic breakup model and anisotropy of biomass particles, 2-dimensional finite stochastic breakup model (2D-FSBM) of biomass particle was proposed, and the breakup p...

Peripherality of breakup reactions

Breakup calculations of loosely bound nuclei (B and Be) are performed with two different descriptions of the projectile. The descriptions differ strongly in the interior of the wave function, but exhibit identical asymptotic properties (ANC, and phase shifts). Calculations are performed for both nuclei at intermediate (40–70 MeV/nucleon) and low (26 MeV) energies with heavy and light targets. N...

Li direct breakup lifetimes

α-d coincidence data were studied for the Li + Co reaction at Elab = 29.6 MeV. By using a kinematic analysis, it was possible to identify which process, leading to the same final state, has the major contribution for each of the selected angular regions. Contributions of the Li sequential and direct breakup to the incomplete fusion/transfer process were discussed by considering the lifetimes ob...

Coulomb breakup problem.

We formulate scattering theory in the framework of a surface-integral approach utilizing analytically known asymptotic forms of the three-body wave functions. This formulation is valid for both short-range and Coulombic potentials. The post and prior forms of the breakup amplitude are derived without any reference to renormalization procedures.
